Hazard: The product has been identified as presenting a risk of fire, burns and electric shock due to multiple safety defects. The plug was incorrectly rated for the fuse link fitted and the rated power of the appliance, presenting a fire hazard. The mains plug was also not fitted with a fuse link conforming to the relevant standard, and was incorrectly rated for the plug and supply cord fitted. The equipment was not designed in a way such as to ensure that temperatures that can cause a danger are not produced. Additionally, the mains supply cord was too thin, had excessive resistance and was protected by an incorrectly rated fuse link.
