Hazard: The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as the plug used does not comply with BS1363 due to the pins being too close together, resulting in the plug making poor contact with the socket. This could cause the product to become live and potentially give the consumer an electric shock. The earth pin was fitted with a sleeve which is not permitted. The plug was not fitted with a fuse and had no means of incorporating one. The thickness of the live and neutral pins was 3.88 & 3.86 mm, less than the required 3.9mm and the breadths of the live and neutral pins were 5.91 & 5.85 mm, less than the required 6.22mm.
Corrective Action: Import rejected at the border. Destruction of the product.
