Hazard: The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as the requirements for Class II construction have not been met, with accessible conductive parts separated from live parts only by basic insulation. This could allow accessible parts to become live over time should the insulation break down. If a user were to touch an accessible live part, they could experience an electric shock. The product also did not have any provision for earthing; failed the electrical strength test; and was supplied with a noncompatible plug, amongst other technical faults.
Corrective Action: The product has been recalled from end users and withdrawn from the market.
