Hazard: The product presents a high risk of fire as the fuse does not meet the requirements of BS1362. The fuse did not meet the minimum length or diameter and had no granular filler to ensure safe operation of the fuse under fault conditions. The lights also present a risk of electric shock as they were marketed as being for outdoor use, but had not been marked appropriately, with no protections from the potential ingress of water or moisture. The cables on the lighting chain were lighter than required and had PVC insulation. PVC is not suitable for the long-term use outside and can deteriorate from the effects of UV radiation. The instruction and markings were deemed inadequate, which may lead to the misuse of the lighting chain. Some of the required documentation was not present.
Corrective Action: The import has been rejected at the border and destroyed.
